The Final Third of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012
Good news: The year’s busiest month, September, more than exceeded our expectations. Around 120 000 people participated in the September 2012 of Design events in total.
The biggest hits were Helsinki Design Week (approx. 50 000 visitors) and the furniture, interior decoration and design event Habitare (around 57 000 visitors) and the Everyday Discoveries exhibition that attracted around 15 000 visitors to Suvilahti, Helsinki. Also, open from 12/5 to 16/9, the Pavilion held its place as a meeting space and drew a total crowd of 80 000 during the opening months.
Despite an excellent September, the year, of course, is not over. In addition to various professional meetings and on-going development projects, there are also dozens of events open for all in October–December, including the brand new exhibitions of Design Museum and Museum of Finnish Architecture.
