15. mai, 2013

TPP 87708 European designers were chosen to exhibit their collections during International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) happening at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from the 17th of May until the 20th of May, 2013.

Among the designers two Estonian designers – Monika Järg and Kadri Kruus- were selected to exhibit their collections during the fair. Both designers have won previously international awards and believe that the participation at ICIF will make it possible to showcase their products to an international audience and increase the overall know-how about Estonian design landscape.

Designer of handcrafted leather goods – Kadri Kruus (www.kadrikruus.ee) – is exhibiting at ICIF her collection “Sublime”. The exhibited leather goods collection „SUBLIME“ is a careful selection of handbags and belts, which areinspired by early-spring landscape in Estonia. The quickly passing moments when the city silhouette is reflected on the watery asphalt pavement and when by the seaside the ashgrey sand is starting to show up under the melting snow. The bright multicolored blotches appear when looking at the sun. The nature of the spring is controversial, but full of hope and unexpected moments.

Interior textiles by designer Monika Järg (www.tekstiilruumis.ee) are characterized by a Nordic freshness and minimalism, and are inspired by Estonian well preserved and rich landscapes. Monika Järg presents at ICIF samples of carpet collections POHL/ COWBERRY and STONEBERRY; and interior textiles collection FLY. In her products Monika Järg uses natural materials and dignified technologies; combines masterful craftsmanship with modern manufacturing facilities; through the use of materials and function adds a wider dimension to the idea of textiles. Textiles are produced in Estonia.

The participation of the designers is supported by Estonian Ministry of Culture, Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Estonian Design Centre, Tallinn Creative Incubator and KEA.
